CADELL tiime iis so short and ii’m sure there must be somethiing more those who are dead are not dead they’re just liiviing iin my head
He wasn't sure what brought his paws here today. He knew he'd needed to get away, to run and be free from Starclan, from Iceclan, from everything. Before he knew it, he was amid the green pines. The smell made him think of winter, though he wasn't sure why. Slight remains of leafbare's white blanketing still lay on the ground, but he avoided it even though it was hide all but his eyes. He just didn't care right now.
He slowed to a stop and he realized there was the smell of cats beneath the damp smell of the forest. His whiskers quivered slightly, but he wasn't afraid. His eyes narrowed slightly in concentration before the black and white star-figure flickered before him. It became easier to call them here, with practice.
Tell me, Battlecry. Where am I?
The older cat didn't even hardly have to look. His eyes softened with what could be joy, sadness, or just him being pleased. Possibly even a mixture of the three, or any two. Cadell would never know.
My home; Shadeclan territory. I do believe you might meet Moonstar. Though, not necessarily first. Be careful Cadell. Those who dwell in the shadows come as close to Iceclan standards as any of the clans get. At least, they tend to.
He faded again, leaving Cadell muttering things about 'so that's why you're such a pain in the ass', and things vaguely similar, thoug he trailed off to sniff around a bit. He was curious. He'd never been in a coniferous forest before.

[But, Foxy shall reply anyways because Cadell needs some loves from ShadeClan]
She seemed to appear from the snow banks that remained from the winter's icy clutches, her snow white fur melding in and out with the bleak colouring. Her eyes tended to draw most in. One, a beautiful newleaf green and the other, a cold, leafbare blue. The she-cat was Moonstar, leader of ShadeClan, and one of the five reincarnated cats. "Welcome," she purred, a light-hearted tone in the mew. But the sound had an underlying icyness that betrayed her lack of curiosity in the world. This was the voice of a cat who had seen it all before. "An IceClan cat by the looks of you," Moonstar said as she took a few steps closer, "You are obviously not of the forest, nor the sea, nor even the air. Who might you be, then, stranger?"

If he hadn't been so well trained to pick up on the slightest of signs, he probably would have missed her coming and jumped from surprise. But assassins are talented things, and he had been perfectly aware of her approached, though not who she was. She smelled of this very land. There was no doubt she was one of these Shadeclan cats Battlecry spoke about with such care that Cadell could swear he loved them. But surely that couldn't be right, could it? Battlecry didn't seem the loving type.
Cadell. And you know nothing about me, so if you could refrain from making assumptions, it would be appreciated.
His voice was chilled. Her description of him being from nowhere annoyed him; His mother had been a clan cat. He wasn't sure which clan, and he knew she had left to be with Touma--he didn't call him dad anymore--but did that mean he was from nowhere? Surely he must be from whatever clan she was from? He pushed it aside, preferring to focus on the present than the past. The past was much too painful.
Who might you be?

Moonstar smiled slightly and then became serious. "I am Moonstar, leader of ShadeClan," she replied with a slight air, but nothing like superiority. The old Moonstar of legend was not one to place herself above others, and this Moonstar was no different. Though she held the position of leader, the white she-cat felt equal to all the others in her clan. "Welcome, Cadell," a soft meow came from her mouth now, "Needless to say we've been waiting for you." It was sort of a habit to say "we" instead of "I" for Moonstar, as the conciousness of the Moonstar from the legends hadn't vanished. Sitting down gracefully, letting her long white fur fall into place neatly, the she-cat wrapped her tail around her paws and waited patiently for Cadell to reply to her.

He had been about to open his mouth, ask what she meant by we, when a whisper, no more than the breath of air that blew, came to his mind. She was one of them, the five reborn. They told him so. Kindly this time, no starry cats appearing beside him. For once. It would probably be the only time. After all, what else could be more amusing when you were dead?
As everybody seems to be.
He replied dryly, not quite happy with Starclan's choice, but having no reason to go against it other. Nor did he have the willpower to do so, since they could haunt him at all times of the day. The look in Icerose's eyes as she talked about them... It gave him hope that they weren't as bad as Iceclan taught them to be, either. Or maybe it was just Icerose's eyes, period. He tried not to entertain that thought too long; It made him a bit embarrassed.
He had a feeling he should be saying something, a phrase that would instill some sort of hope of some kind perhaps, as the hero always did in the stories. But he wasn't a cat who said great things. By Bloodclan, he was hardly a cat who did great things. After all, who in their right minds chooses an assassin to save the clans? Maybe that was the problem. Maybe Starclan was a tad delusional. Soon after that thought, he felt a cuff on his ear and he spun to hiss at what would appear to be air. One guess to figure our who it was.
What was that for?!
Doubting us. Mainly because I haven't done it in awhile, though.
The medicine cat purred with amusement as Cadell growled softly, claws going out and coming back in to leave marks in the dirt.

"What is it you are seeking in the land of shade?" the she-cat asked, ignoring his fit, "Busy at the moment, I am not, but I do have matters to attend to." The white leader smiled gently to Cadell, a maternal smile, and she seemed to understand. "Hmm," Moonstar murmured to herself, "I wonder. You have seen Falconstar and Wiseheart, correct?" Her voice was a little more directed now, though not at all loud. I do hope you are right, Moonstar, she thought to herself, earning a chuckle in response. Why wouldn't I be right? the voiced answer came, I can talk to them whenever so choose and you doubt me? You'd think I wouldn't forget that, the flesh-and-blood cat chuckled in her head and out loud, which might earn looks of disbelief from those who didn't know or understand.

His paw went up to pad at his ear slightly, glad to feel no blood, just a bit of an after-sting. He placed his paw down, and before he had a chance to really answer her first question, there was another aimed his way, and it was more direct. Presumably more important, but who was to know, anyway? He let out a dry laugh as he heard it though.
All four of them.
He replied, watching her for her reaction. He didn't expect her to be surprised, not really. She had another half too, if he remembered right. He just hadn't met the otehr Moonstar yet.

"Ah," Moonstar chuckled, "So you are able to see our StarClan selves? I should've guessed as much." As if to answer her, an ethereal white shape appeared next to her. An exact duplicate. Of course he can see us, the cat purred, Why do you doubt what I tell you? "Because you're an old fool?" the solid cat joked, her laughter soft though it shook her shoulders., "No. It's just natural to doubt, Moonstar. You of all cats should know how I feel." The cat nodded then turned to Cadell. You can see me, correct?

Yes. Quite easily, really.
He replied, knowing full well it wasn't normal for him to see them, but not really caring. He didn't mind being different. What he minded was having so much expected of him. He was tempted to say some quip about seeing Battlecry as well, in all his annoyances, but decided it wasn't worth another whack on the head. Instead, he went much more vague, and much less insulting.
I can see them all, call on them even. Usually happens without me meaning to, though. Takes a bit of getting used to.

"So you've seen all four of them-" Moonstar began, but was cut off by the ethereal cat. And you know that the living are- the other cat continued. "The reincarnations of the StarClan cats-" At this time they were fighting for control of the words they were speaking, both thinking the same thing. Moonstar of the Sky cut off the flesh Moonstar again. And were sent to deliver the clans- "All those moons ago?" they finished together, but the StarClan cat continued on. And you know that to see us, the cats who are with StarClan, is not something that normally occurs? You accept your fate? she questioned, It is good news, in a way, Cadell of the Ice.

I know. It was one of Mother's favourite stories when I was a kit.
He replied softly, his eyes softening with a shimmer of tears at the mention of his mother, but he was good at controlling his emotions. Nothing more showed, and it wouldn't. His ears twitched at the elder Moonstar's question and his lip pulled back in a slight snarl.
I don't disagree that Deadstar needs to go down and Iceclan needs to disappear. But don't expect me to think I'm capable of causing it. Born a murderer, die a murderer, never a saviour.

Obviously StarClan sees you in a different light, Cadell, the ghostly cat chuckled, Otherwise you wouldn't have been prophesied as the downfall of the descendants of BloodClan. Moonstar, the living one, rolled her eyes but smiled all the same. "You have to realize, young one," she purred, "That not all who are chosen believe themselves up to the task. As a kit I didn't believe that I was the reincarnate of the she-cat you see beside me. If it wasn't for her voice in my ears no matter where I wandered, I, Moonstar of ShadeClan, might've been a useless lump of fur." She took another cautious step towards Cadell and then licked his head softly. "Believe in yourself for once, Cadell of the Ice," she whispered into his ear, "Amazing things can happen when you do."

His fur bristled softly as she came closer, but he didn't flinch, didn't move. One could almost call him a statue, a carving of ice with fresh green leaves frozen in for eyes. Then he blinked, his stillness no longer complete.
I believed in myself once. But too much has happened to cause anything more than doubt, now. Don't get me wrong, I'll still try. But sharpen your claws for battle. The odds are that I'll fail. Back-up would certainly be appreciated.
His head tipped to the side slightly as he glanced over at her Starclan self.
It does sort of have a nice ring to it though, what some of you call me. Starwalker. There's something to that, at least.

The sprectral che-cat smiled and sat down. Cadell[/b] her voice barely a whisper now as she began to fade, Don't give up hope. You are meant to be the downfall of Deadstar and the hope of the clan.[/b] And with that last statement, Moonstar of the sky faded completely. "What she says is true, Starwalker," the living white cat continued, "You and the frozen rose are the hope of the clans. Like Falconstar, Brightstar, Petalstar and I were when we were just apprentices." A smile graced her lips for a moment before it vanished like the phantom. "You have a lead on us at least," Moonstar sighed, "We were but apprentices, barely old enough to hunt for ourselves when our lives were thrown into chaos. You are hope."
