An excerpt from the will of Edgars Williams.
"And now for you, my dear friend Harriet Smith. You know of all the secrets of the institute my mentor, Xavier, started. You were even there for a time, after his passing when it became mine to continue. I'm afraid that if this is being read it has now fallen to your capable hands to teach these children and to help them gain control, among everything else that is required of you. I hate to leave you with such a warning as the one that will follow, but I fear if you do not know than it will all come to an end, not just for the mansion and its inhabitants, but for the world.
You will understand how I have come about this information, and why it is as stingy on the details as it is, but a danger is coming. An angel on black wings will swoop down and cast his shadow, first over this town, and eventually over everything that lives and breathes. Be careful, Harriet, and teach the children well. It may be your only hope at survival."
Just hours before his death, Edgar Williams, owner of Xavier's Institute for the Gifted, signed this document. He had been a psychic, had predicted the future and its outcome. However, he mistook one thing. What he saw starting was not a thing of the past. Just weeks before, the Archangel Corporation was built directly inside the town and lone mutants began to go missing. When simple, ordinary humans began to disappear as well, the rumours started flying.
Indeed, it was a story of an angel upon black wings, proclaimed by the citizens as the Dark Angel. They never got the description right, for they never saw him. He strikes at night, and, though no one knows it, he lures his victims through compulsion and brings them to his mystery office building.
