Lilysong walked up to touch noses with her new apprentice as was tradition. She knew the two cats were probably bursting with excitement about becoming warriors. At least now when they left there den they wouldn't get in trouble, now they were free to roam as they pleased. She already knew they first task she was going to do with Arrowpaw. Later she would take him to see the territory and also show him some of the easier herbs to find. She knew it would be best not to start out to hard with him, start slowly then move on. Unlike some who started out hard to see how the apprentice handled it, but she knew stress was not good for a young cat, any cat actually.

-okay-
Pinekit, please come forward.
She paused momentarily as the young, excited kit stepped towards the High Rock, pride containing the hopping and bouncing that often accompanied young kits. His ego would be one that needed to be tempered down.
From this moment until your warrior name has been earned, you will be known as Pinepaw. You will be mentored by Shadowflame. May his intelligence and undying loyalty be passed on to you.
Pinekit's bright eyes went out to search the clan for his mentor, who would surely be stepping forward very soon. He could hardly wait to get started.

Shadowflame's eyes brightened as he heard his name called from the leader. He noticed the bounce the kit had as he had pranced to the front of the camp to stand under High Rock and he mrowed softly in laughter as he stepped forward. There was no doubt this would exciting for both apprentice and mentor.
Smiling, he leaned forward and touched noses with the young apprentice and tilted his head to the side before walking back to his place next to Dewflower, signaling Pinepaw to follow with a twitch of his tail.
Silently, Shadowflame wondered if Dewflower would mind if he brought Pinepaw when they went to hunt. It was a perfect opportunity for Pinepaw to learn some moves from two experienced warriors. As he continued to get lost in his own mind, he absently scanned the crowd of cats before looking toward Dewflower and smiling lightly, as he wondered if the leader would announce something new, or if she would dismiss the clan.

Pinepaw quickly followed his new mentor. He was a bit of a trouble maker, but mostly for the sake of seeing things he hadn't seen before, and now that he could wander more freely... Well, chances were he'd be listening a lot better. After all, he was set on becoming a warrior as fast as he could, but not without sacrificing time to become the best cat he could be first. He may be energetic, but he wasn't going to just ignore his mentor entirely. Especially not when Shadowflame could teach him so many things, and practise with him.
What are we doing first Shadowflame?

A small breeze brushed past the cats, ruffling Shadowflame's fur slightly as he gazed toward the cloudless sky. Turning his gaze to the young, excited cat by his side, he smiled.
Well..if Dewflower doesn't mind you going along, we could teach you some hunting moves today, and then tomorrow explore the clan territory.
Turning his emerald eyes toward her, he focused on her own green eyes and waited for her reply, knowing how let down the young apprentice would be if she refused. Though, she seemed so kind, and he doubted she would refuse such a young cat the privilge he would have to watch both experienced hunters and learn from their individual moves.
[[OOC: Sorry it's so late.]]

As the other kit was apprenticed to Shadowflame, Dewflower felt happy for him, and also a little relieved. An apprentice may have been too much for her. She wondered what would happen of their hunting plans, if Shadowflame would even want to go? The question was soon answered when the new mentor turned to her.
"Of course I'll still come. It'll be fun," she mewed, smiling back at him. She then turned to Pinepaw. "You're really luck, Shadowflame's going to be an excellent mentor."
She assumed the meeting was over, but was going to wait for Shadowflame before leaving, just in case the leader had anything else to add. Thankfully, the weather had stayed nice, providing ideal conditions to hunt in. Excitement pulsed through her as she waited.

Pinepaw purred happily, his eyes flashing with pride at the compliment Shadowflame got. Clearly he was an excellent warrior, and that was just the kind of mentor Pinepaw had hoped for. He was just about ready to start pacing in impatience, but he held himself back, working on his restraint. Restraint was a good thing...right?
Can we go now? We'll have more time before the sunset.
It was more of a request made out of pure excitement, and it was obvious with his voice, but he was trying to be sensible about it all and act responsible. He figured trying was what counted the most.

Arrowpaw touched noses with his new mentor and although his fur lay smooth, one could see uncontained excitment shining in his eyes. Unlike his excitable brother, however, the young kit held more maturity since birth. Instead of bounding up and down, he merely wrapped his tail around him, hiding his crippled paw, and waited for the first instruction.
