FIREPAW because when -ii- arrive -ii- bring the fire make you come alive -ii- can take you higher
His whiskers quivered in excitement as he paced just inside the nursery's entrance. Just when he thought he could wait no longer, he heard the very sounds he had been waiting to hear for what seemed like seasons. A gathering call from Falconstar to the rest of the clan.
C'mon you two! We're gonna become apprentices!
He purred excitedly to his sisters, and, without waiting a single second for them, he dashed out, nearly colliding with a warrior. Luckily it wasn't one of the elders; He would have earned a swipe of the ear instead of an understanding smile and a gentle verbal warning.
Falconstar was standing proudly on the slight cliff just outside her den, but she had to stop herself from glowing too much. No one was to know that the kits today were hers, and if she didn't watch herself... Well, they would find out. She couldn't wait though. She'd chosen to teach little Songkit herself, knowing she could potentially get carried away with energetic Firekit. Rainkit had never been an option. She knew perfectly well that the calmest of the three would excel with the medicines, not the fighting. It was in her nature. Taking a deep breath as she saw the last few arriving and settling in to find a place, she began the ceremony.
Cats of Skyclan, this sunhigh we gather to give three kits their apprentice names, as it is due time they begin to learn the ways of clan life. We will start with the one chosen for a special path. Rainkit, from now until you have earned your full name, you will be known as Rainpaw. You will be taught the ways of the medicine cats by Spiritsong. Spiritsong, may you pass on your gentle and understanding nature to your apprentice.
And next she paused, knowing that Rainpaw would, traditionally, touch her nose to Spiritsong's shoulder, and they would share a moment. There was no need to disturb it by rushing on to Songkit, who would come next. A firm glance at Firekit, who was shifting back and forth impatiently, stilled him, much to the relief of those sitting around the young tom.

Sparrowflight stretched as she entered the camp, two squirrels hanging from her jaws. Perfect. She had anticipated her timing well. Sparrowflight had gone hunting this morning, planning to be back just in time for the gathering. Thankfully, it had happened just like that. The she-cat placed her catch on the fresh-kill and joined the rest of the clan underneath Falconstar's cliff. The leader had confided in her about the meeting's purpose but she still didn't know who would be mentoring the kits. Falconstar had sounded very proud- almost unnaturally- so the deputy wondered if she herself would be mentoring one. Sparrowflight was soon filled with curiosity and as she took her place among the clan cats, she to began to feel proud and excited.

Spiritsong sat off to the side, waiting for Falconstar to announce the mentors of the three young cats. She saw Sparrowflight enter the camp, and wondered if she might be getting an apprentice. Spiritsong hoped she would get an apprentice that she could share the joys of being a medicine cat with. It was a lonely life, but an apprentice would liven things up.
OOC: sorry for the short post. I have absolutely no muse tonight.

o.o.c. I'm here
Rainpaw padded up to Spiritsong when her name was called. She remained silent containing her joy. She did not bounce with joy as other cats did during there apprenticeship. If it wasn't for the slight smile that touched her lips you wouldn't even think she cared. Once she reached her new mentor she reached forward to touch her nose. For some reason she thought she would feel older or something when this day came, but she didn't, it just felt like another day except for the fact that she knew it wasn't. In that instant of silence before they would call her new name she let all the happy thoughts she had inside pass through her mind. She couldn't believe it, she was finally an apprentice.

Spiritsong reached out to touch noses with her apprentice. She was proud to have an apprentice, worried about how she was going to train her when she didn't know how to teach, and overjoyed that she had gotten her wish, all at the same time. She smiled at Rainpaw, hoping that they would get along and that Rainpaw would be easy to teach.

Rainpaw could sense the different emotions going through Spiritsong's eyes. She wondered if she would feel that way when she first got her apprentice or if she would appear the smiling, calm cat like today. Should hoped she would be a fast learner, she would hate it if she was slow and became a horrible medicine cat. When she finally backed away and followed Spiritsong shouldn't couldn't help, but feel excitement. She knew they would be great warriors, even Firekit as much as she hated to admit, but would be glad to see him do all the evil apprentice duties that he would be made to do.

Spiritsong guided her apprentice over to sit by the medicine den to see her siblings' ceremonys too. "Don't worry." she spoke softly to Rainpaw. "I think you will make a wonderful medicine cat. I'll start training right after this." She smiled at Rainpaw. "Just wait until you get to meet the other medicine cats. The StormClan medicine cat, Phantomglow, is blind. She is one of my friends." Rainpaw WILL make a wonderful medicine cat, I'm sure. she seems so eager to learn. I just hope I can do her justice.

FIREPAW because when -ii- arrive -ii- bring the fire make you come alive -ii- can take you higher
Firekit quivered impatiently, only to be let down a moment later when he learned he would be the last to get his name. Falconstar flicked her tail almost unnoticeably at Songkit and purred softly.
Songkit. From today forward, you will be known as Songpaw. I will mentor you myself.
Her kind eyes laid upon the kit--her kit--as the young she-cat came forward and for a moment, there was a flash of mother's pride in her eyes. Few were close enough to see it, but hopefully even those who were close enough didn't. These three could very well be the end of her if anyone found out.

OOC: I am adding something in here that I completly blanked on in my profile. I can add it later if you like.
The ever observant she-cat watched the eyes of both Spiritsong and Rainpaw. She had stood to the side through all the kit's lives, watching them grow in silence. They all had such distinct personalities; it was no wonder Rainpaw was the new medicine cat apprentice. She was calm in a crisis and caring. A boistrous kit would never be a healer. As usual, Sparrowflight saw nothing in Rainpaw's eyes. They were blank, hidden from all cats but Starclan. But Spirtitsong's were alive and she couldn't contain her emotions. Excited, nervous, prepared, uncertain. All the feelings emitting from any new mentor. Sparrowflight knew them well.
She lifted her gaze to the blue sky, refusing to let the hurt overtake her shattered heart. Sparrowflight's first apprentice, her only apprentice, had been killed so many moons ago that all had forgotten but Sparrowflight herself and Falconstar. They had discussed it many times, so that Darkpaw's memory never faded. Someday Sparrowflight would see her again...in Starclan.
Wait. The deputy glimpsed something in the corner of her vision. There was something about the way Falconstar now leaned over Songki..Songpaw. Was that tenderness? Sparrowflight had never seen that look in any gaze but a Queen's as she fondly watched her kit. Something was not right, but the she-cat couldn't put her paw on it. Not her business of course so she should have diminshed the thought. However, it kept prodding her...making her curious...

-...okay, I'm going to move onto Firekit, simply because Whitey hasn't replied yet, and I'd like to make my kit an apprentice O.o-
FIREPAW because when -ii- arrive -ii- bring the fire make you come alive -ii- can take you higher
Firekit just about bounded up before Falconstar even spoke to give him his apprentice name and his mentor, but he forced himself to wait. Just barely.
Last, comes Firekit. From today until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Firepaw. You will be mentored by Cougarheart, from who I hope you learn patience and determination.
As the wails of the three names, repeated in unison by the clan, rose, Falconstar gazed down at the three kits--her three kits--and smiled as Firepaw made his way quickly up to the front to touch his nose to Cougarheart's shoulder, his tail raised excitedly into the air. He would be the one who would cause the most trouble, but the more she watched him, the more she saw how alike he was to Sparkfire, her sister. It was a good thing she hadn't made them a mentor-apprentice pair; They'd never get anything done between the two of them.

Cougarheart padded up to his apprentice with a warm-hearted smile. It made sense for Falconstar to place this boisterous apprentice in the care of a cat who was normally very stoic and calm. Almost as though she knew Cougarheart could calm this little bundle of fluff down. Or at the very least keep him out of trouble. Looking up to his sister with the same loving smile that he gave his apprentice, the tabby tom nodded once to her and then turned away. It was about time that these kits were apprenticed, and now that they all had mentors, it was a wonderous sight indeed. "Come now, Firepaw," he whispered, "Let's get you working."

OOC: I know I am in 2 places at once, but I have superpowers mwhahaha jk!
Sparrowflight yowled the names of the newly apprenticed kits along with the rest of her clan but did not lift her gaze off Falconstar. Something was wrong. The deputy waited patiently until the apprentices and their mentors drifted off, followed by the rest of the clan. She padded close to her leader and whispered in her ear so only Falconstar could hear. "May we speak? Privately?"

FALCONSTAR when there``s no one else look inside yourself like your oldest friend just trust the voice within
Falconstar looked over at Sparrowflight, her deputy, and her friend. Somehow, she knew her secret was out, at least to the one standing next to her. But, maybe she was wrong, though her other self was muttering in her head. He dipped her head, and padded into her den, knowing Sparrowflight would follow.
She sat down closer to the back, so the sound was less likely to drift out. After all, if this was what she guessed it was about, it was something she didn't want anyone else hearing. The fewer the cats who knew, the better. She wrapped her tail around her paws and waited patiently, not going to be the one to speak the first word.

Sparrowflight sat as well when they reached the den but her tail twitched behind her like a live snake. Looking into Falconstar's wise eyes, she realized she would have to begin the conversation. "Falconstar," she started. "I have been loyal to you for many moons- my whole life. And since I have become clan deputy, I have seen another side to you; a...puzzling side. The way, you looked at those kits today was with so many emotions. I do not wish to hurt you Falconstar but I have to ask: how close are you REALLY to those kits?"
