-Foampaw She could hear it before it came into view, the soothing rush of waves slowly lapping at the shore, a distant bird's cry, and the merry tinkling of the streams beside her. A short leap brought her on top of the large, damp rock that had been blocking her sight, struggling to keep steady on the slippery surface. Just seeing it caught her breath just like every other time, and she stood there, blue eyes wide and staring, taking it all in. The sand that met with the water, where it took over, and seemed to go on forever. The huge, blue expanse, the salty smell, the colors that the sun painted the sky as it sunk below the waves. The sunset was always beautiful, and always different, and that's why she liked to watch it as often as possible. The light gray she-cat gracefully bounded off of the rock and into the sand, padding lightly toward the shore. She dipped a paw into the water as it reached out toward her, then took a few paces back and curled up in the sand, watching the waves.

Carmeltail sat up in the tree watching the young apprentice below her, she could see the joy coming off the other cat. It reminded her of when she was younger. A purr escaped her throat as she watched the cat leap from one spot to another. It always surprised her as it did others that she could make the noise of a purr, but remained speechless. It made her wonder if she really was mute, or if something was keeping her from speaking, but she knew the thought was absurd.
She considered joining the cat below, but decided that it was best to leave the cat in peace. She didn't know if she was welcome or not. So instead she let her mind wander as she day dreamed like time and time again.

The waves and beach sounds were so familiar, that even the slightest noise that broke it's steady rhythm caught her attention. She'd thought she'd heard another cat before, when she was over by the rocks, and now she decided that she was done lying there. Not that it had been long, but sitting still just wasn't her favourite thing.
She rolled over, getting sand all over her glossy coat, and lazily got to her paws. Slowly, she sauntered back toward where she had come from, her pretty blue eyes searching the area thoroughly for any sign of cats. Once she got up to the big, slippery rock from earlier, the familiar scent of SeaClan hit her nose, and she looked up in surprise to a tree nearby, spotting her Clanmate, Carmeltail. Her features instantly lit up, excited to find another cat, and she bounded comically back onto her perch.
"Hi, Carmeltail!" she mewed excitedly, curling her tail around her paws. "What'cha doing way up there?" She cocked her head and grinned up at the warrior.

Carmeltail had closed her eyes and her day dream had almost turned into a dream. It was a common one, that she often thought about. Her parents were alive and she was able to speak. She was loved by all and she loved all. The dream didn't have a plot, there was no climax or end just continuous happiness.
Suddenly a voice startled her from her day dream. Much to cats from other clans beliefs she was not deaf and mute, just mute. The noise startled her so much that she almost fell from the branch. Was Seaclan under attack? IT was such a silly notion as the sent of another Seaclan cat crossed her noise. Looking down she saw that it was Foampaw. She had completely forgot about the young cat. If she wasn't careful some day she would regret day dreaming all the time.
Jumping down from the branch to face the apprentice she recalled what the cat had asked. With facial expressions and the movement of her tail and paws she began to explain in her physical speech that she had been day dreaming in the trees. She had not meant to intrude or be rude with her coming and hoped the young apprentice would forgive her.
For a moment she looked at the cat and was unsure what she all understood, it was always harder for them to get what she meant without knowing her for to long. And sometimes it was hard to put words to motions.

Foampaw had startled her, and guilt began to churn in her stomach. If the she-cat was offended, she would surely let her know. Thankfully, Foampaw didn't sense any hints of annoyance or anger as the other cat jumped down from the tree, and began motioning to Foampaw.
Foampaw watched, fascinated by how the she-cat could still communicate accurately without speech to aid her. It took her a moment to piece together all the actions and their meanings in her mind, but she thought she'd figured most of it out.
"You were relaxing..? No, daydreaming, that's it!" Foampaw guessed with a little grin. "I guess I was too. Except, I was mostly thinking about stuff, like training tomorrow rather than dreaming about things."
The little she-cat rambled on, flicking her tail every so often.
"But mostly I just came here to watch the sunset. It's pretty, isn't it?" The question was more of a statement. Foampaw quieted into a silence, glancing behind her and staring at the sea, transfixed. It was one of the only things that could quiet her, it just amazed her so much.

With a nod of her head Carmeltail agreed with the young cat. She could tell the cat wasn't really asking, but thought it was a polite jester. The sunset was beautiful, probably the most beautiful thing on Earth, along with a sunrise. It always amazed how many colors were up there, that altogether didn't look apart. IT was like they were meant to be together. She had never seen another cat with as many or different colours in the sky, that was one of the reasons she thought that it was so special. Slowly, but quickly the sun fell beyond the sea.
o.o.c. apparently cats are suppose to not really be able to see red, don't know for sure, but if so maybe what they see would be beautiful, but pretend otherwise I think.

As the sunset faded, and a dark cloak of black wrapped around the two cats, Foampaw shivered and stood up, stretching her cramped legs quickly and hopping off the rock, landing gracefully into the sand.
"Well, I'm gonna go back to camp. I'm pretty sure I have a bunch of training to do tomorrow, and I'm dead tired," she told Carmeltail animatedly, twitching her whiskers. "I'll see you tomorrow!" She waved her long, furry tail in goodbye and waited for a moment to see if the other cat was staying or was going to walk back to camp with her. The sunset and the sea had been relaxing, and she was intensly longing her warm, mossy nest to lie in for the night.

Carmeltail grew sad as the sky finally went dark as the sun disappeared, luckily the moon allowed for some light to see Foampaw. She could sense when the cat leaped of the rock and after a moment she spoke. She wondered if whose the cats mentor was, she could no longer remember, she had probably been day dreaming at the time. She knew she had a bad habit for that, but she couldn't help it sometimes. When Foampaw didn't walk away she realized that she was waiting to see if Carmeltail was coming too. She was about to tell the cat to leave without her, but instead decided to follow. Leaping onto the ground she slowly walked away to show the apprentice that she was coming.

As soon as she knew the she-cat was coming with her, Foampaw began tiredly walking back to camp. A sudden weariness dragged down on her, and she realized she'd been up on dawn patrol, and then out until the sun had set, with lots of busy things happening in between. A yawn forced her small mouth open, the small moon glinting on her teeth. "Is there anything exciting happening tomorrow?" she asked quietly, trying hard not to yawn again. They were almost back at the camp, having followed a familiar pathway that was used regularily by cats from her Clan. She could scent then up ahead, and she was comforted by the protection she had in her home, how she knew she would fall asleep without having to worry about anything. She wondered for a moment, about the rogue cats she sometimes heard about, and if they were scared when it was night, when anything could happen since there were no rules (at least that she'd ever heard about) out there. She pushed the wandering little thoughts out of her head, and instead thought about her soft, warm nest. [ooc; sorry, kind of boring, but I'm tired ]

Carmeltail thought about her question. She didn't think anything special was happening tomorrow, just the regular patrols, but she could be wrong. Awkwardly she shrugged her shoulders, it was her way of saying she didn't know. For a while they were silent. Carmeltail wondered what Foampaw was thinking about. For a moment it seemed like she was worried or confused or maybe both. Or none of her ideas, but then the look was gone, replaced by a more peaceful calm look. Obviously the cat was very tired. Luckily they were almost at camp. She hoped the cat got a long undisturbed sleep, she looked like she needed it.
